Dominika spent her childhood in Poland where her journey began with the styling of her Barbie dolls (with undoubted success) as well as her own hair. At the age of 19 she made her transition from dolls to all her “true friends”. Following her graduation from artistic hairstyling school and a year mastering her shtick, she moved to New York City to continue developing and elevating her skills. Brooklyn became her home and for the last 18 years she’s found meaning in helping her clients look and feel beautiful by pouring all her craft and heart into her creations. Through her journey Dominika has found her way to Headchop drawn by inspiration of curly / textured hair. Her natural approach to hair combined with the training received in-house with us shines through in the beautiful work she is creating. Her carefully sculpted work will keep bring you and your hair joy.

Outside of work Dominika is a mom to two amazing kids and 3 fluffy cats. Being out in nature, hiking, and camping with family and friends (cats stay at home) is her secondary passion. Most all free moments are spent getting lost in the forest.

After graduating from the Learning Institute of Beauty Science in 2002, Sarah began her journey to become a professional hairstylist.

Mastering multiple techniques in Beauty Science, Sarah has sustained a successful career for 20 years strong. Applying color, cutting, styling, putting in extensions, wig-making, barbering, offering bridal beauty services, and consultation are Sarah’s strong suits! Making people look and feel their best has sharpened her skills. And, Sarah’s excellent customer service has set her apart from most stylists in the industry.

In 2018, Sarah made a pivotal career move when she became an on-call stylist For the Legendary Roots band Member Questlove at the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Kamie has been a curly hair stylist and educator for 16+ years specializing in dry and wet approaches to cutting and styling for wavy, curly and super coily textured hair. As a colorist she is highly focused on creating a custom designed plan for each guest and their individual desires for the look they wear. Kamies utmost priority in color is maintaining the integrity of hair while achieving her clients desired style. She wants every person regardless of race, ethnicity, or gender to embrace and love their naturally beautiful and textured hair. As an educator with The Curl Ambassadors based in Toronto, Kamie has found a true passion in sharing knowledge when it comes to curls and texture. She has joined the Chop family to work with both Lil’ Chop and Headchop locations, and we are excited to have her as a part of our talented roster of stylists.

In the midst of their junior year of college March 2020, Anaïs returned to their home in Queens, NY with little idea of what the future had in store. Through their art school studies, virtually, they found themselves drawn to gaining knowledge on how best to take care of their curly hair in the newly found free-time of shutdown. Little did they know that in three years time they would expand their journey in the hair industry with Headchop Studio and Lil’ Chop Salon!

Working in-salon by day and attending Arrojo Cosmetology School by night, they are excited to deep dive into the world of hair, and styling for all textures. They are a firm believer that one's hair is an extension of themselves. They look forward to providing a well-versed and dynamic approach to hair styling. Anaïs works with each individual person to create a look as unique as their persona that they can wear with confidence.

Martha Ellen, yes it’s a double name, is the creator of Headchop Studio in North Williamsburg and now Lil’ Chop Salon in South Williamsburg! Hailing from South Carolina, she is a transplant that has deeply rooted herself into the community of Williamsburg. With 13 years of business at Headchop, Martha Ellen invites you to a one-of-a-kind salon experience based in dry cutting for curlies, straights, and wavies!

In addition to running two businesses, Martha Ellen loves to roll up her sleeves and offer her signature dry cutting, brow microblading and lamination, freckle tattooing, as well as wedding and event styling in-house and on-location.

Martha Ellen’s passion lies in connection. Connecting with people. Connecting clients to the right stylist. Helping humans connect to themselves through hair. Sharing the spaces she has curated with careful intention with the individuals who were meant to find it is where she finds true joy! Stylist, ceramic artist, Rudy’s mom, lover, friend… She invites you in, and we know from firsthand experience, you won’t want to leave!

As a New Yorker through and through, Raven-Lewis looks at styling hair as an art and uses that artistry to help others truly feel their look completely reflects them. In achieving a vision that matches the persons everyday lifestyle, Raven-Lewis believes that communication is the key to confidence.

Through thoughtful consultation she provides styling that gives confidence, as well as valuable instruction on care of the hair you have. Taking pride in being a master finisher in the hair industry for 9+ years she churns out seamless, frizz-less, stunning blowouts and specialty stylings catered to event or perhaps just the amazing ensemble you’ll be out in later!
